Hours: Up to 40 hours per week + nights, holidays and weekends as needed.

As the People Operations Graduate Associate, you will learn the core proficiencies of human resources and community and social responsibility throughout our full season! We are seeking a team member with a positive, upbeat outlook that can lead and connect with a diverse population!

What you’ll be doing:
Human Resources
- Serve as liaison between the Human Resources Department and our full season Graduate Associate Program
- Assist with leading the Graduate Associate Program, including all associate programming and volunteer initiatives.
- Help Maintain digital employee records, including Form I-9s.
- Continue to enhance our employee record and filing systems.
- Assist with creating, maintaining, and updating HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, offboarding and employee relations matters as needed.
- Assist with inputting, auditing and maintaining accurate employee records within the HRIS system.
Community and Social Responsibility
- Assist CSR with planning Pistons Mentoring programs.
- Help plan and implement Motor City Cruise initiatives.
- Handle in-kind donation program for local non-profit organizations and company affiliates.
- Coordinate and assist with operation of Community Ticket Program.
- Assist with fundraising efforts and community programs for the Detroit Pistons Foundation.
- Aide members of the department with all other projects, as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree required from a college or university in related field (preferred)
- Six months to one-year of Human Resources experience; maintaining files/documents, HRIS, peer leadership, employee engagement and/or six months to one-year of Community Relations experience; planning events, volunteering, fundraising
- Ability to be onsite M-F, holidays, weekends, and nights as needed
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and display critical thinking skills
- Self-improver, possess a positive attitude and eagerness to learn
