Paraeducator for Teacher Consultant for Early Childhood Special Education
LOCATION:
Various Early Childhood Programs and Community Setting Throughout Clare & Gladwin Counties.
REPORTS TO:
Special Educator Supervisor
HOURS:
Full-time; 7.5 hours per day; Monday – Friday, as determined by the School Calendar & Individual Program Needs
COMPENSATION:
According to MEA Contract

JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Early Childhood Paraeducator is responsible for supporting the implementation of instructional, developmental, and therapeutic services for young children with disabilities or developmental delays. Under the direction of a Teacher Consultant, the Paraeducator assists in a variety of family and community settings to ensure
each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals are supported through individualized, developmentally appropriate strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of college preferred.
• Experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities, preferably in an early childhood setting.
• Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and composed when supporting children with a range of physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between home, community, and educational settings, if necessary.
