Basic Purpose and Scope:
The QA Technician I validates, through documentation, observation and performance of in-process line checks, that systems are in place and functional. This position performs analytical tests on ingredients and finished goods, sanitation verifications, environmental monitoring, and routine housekeeping audits.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform all job duties and operations in a safe manner, while following all federal, state, and Litehouse regulations and policies Always
- Verify that quality systems are in place and functional by both observations and performance of in-process line checks such as pillow dimension, seal quality, metal detector operation, etc. Perform first case checks at startup, shift change and product changeovers 75%
- Review in-process documentation at the mix deck and filling stations at regular intervals throughout production 5%
- Understand and be able to use all necessary lab testing equipment 5%
- Understand and be able to perform analytical tests on ingredients and finished goods including, but not limited to, pH, salt, titratable acidity, water activity, etc. 5%
- Perform sanitation verifications, such as ATP swabbing, allergen swabbing, visual inspections, etc. 5%
- Perform environmental monitoring swabbing as needed 5%
- Perform routine housekeeping audits; report issues and follow-up on corrective actions 5%
- Understand and appropriately utilize factory software Ongoing
- Understand and model correct behavior in the core principals of quality manufacturing as they relate to the food industry, such as HACCP, GMP and SQFI Ongoing
- Responsibility to adhere to Food Safety policies and report food safety and quality concerns to their supervisor Ongoing
- Maintains clean work area and participates in housekeep throughout the facility and grounds Ongoing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED Strongly Preferred
- Some working knowledge of ROSS or other inventory management system, NWA or other statistical analysis system and SharePoint or other similar system is preferred
- Strong knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas professionally, effectively, and efficiently in the common language
- Communicate professionally in email format
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization
- Compute basic mathematical calculations, rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company with strong interpersonal and organizational skill
