Job Summary: Under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist, provide direct care to students using standard physical therapy procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the school team and physical therapist to provide services to children including interventions, in small group and individual sessions.
- Ability to work with children of varied abilities and temperaments.
- Follow and implement the plan for each student developed by the physical therapist.
- Provide documentation and reports at Individual Educational Planning meetings.
- Ability to work independently and manage schedules and caseload.
- Position requires travel between school districts.
- Possess verbal and written communication skills, write notes on services provided and provide input and feedback to teachers and the physical therapist.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from accredited PTA program.
- Physical Therapy Assistant License
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district staff and the public.
- Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment.
- Proficient computer and document skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
