POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Girl Empowerment Program (GEP) is responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of the Girl Empowerment Program (GEP). The Director of GEP will ensure that all programming is consistent with the leadership development experience for girls within the council jurisdiction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create annual department plan of work in line with GSSEM priorities, including but not limited to GEP geographic areas served as well as working with recruitment to implement Volunteer Led troops in assigned areas.
- Collaborate with school districts and other partners to ensure memorandums of understanding are updated and reflect current goals and activities. All signed copies of MOU's should be kept on Global Drive for accessibility.
- Research, develop, and implement an annual GEP troop plan to deliver consistent experiences for all girls in GEP troops.
- Monitor performance of all GEP troops and programs, and determine needs for improvement based on outcomes, grant requirements, and girl needs.
- Create and track the annual department budget, ensure that Revenue generation from GEP parents is being communicated and tracked.
- Responsible for all grants for GEP. Develop a robust grant tracking spreadsheet that includes all Revenue and Expenses and that contains the running balance of each grant's unspent funds. Oversee that ALL Grant Funds are spent as per the grant agreement. Prepare all grant reports at least 2 weeks prior to the due date for review by Chief Membership Officer.
- In partnership with the product program department, implement the Girl Scout Cookie Program with GEP troops, including process management and cookie program reconciliation including payments for GEP troops.
- Supervise and support the GEP staff, including meeting coverage as needed, regular one-on-ones and annual performance evaluations. Responsible for approving staff timesheets and PTO requests so as not to cause detriment to the GEP dept.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's Degree with concentration in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum (6) years of experience managing grants.
- Minimum of five (5) years program implementation, community engagement, and/or program management in underrepresented communities.
- Minimum five (5) years of management experience.
Position Qualifications
- This position requires registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the S.A.
- Experience in budget and grant management.
- Proven record of managing others through strategic execution and goal achievement.
- Experience with partnership agreements and relationship maintenance.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate knowledge of Excel, and ability to learn additional computer programs as needed.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes frequent evening and weekend
