The Opportunity:
We know that the best civil engineering talent doesn’t always come knocking — sometimes, you’ve got to go out and find them. That’s why we’re hiring a Recruiter with a headhunter mindset — someone who is tenacious, self-driven, and thrives on proactively sourcing top-tier talent in the civil engineering space. In this role you will be evaluated based on the quality of hire, not quantity.
This role requires on-site attendance five days a week during the training period. Eligibility for a hybrid work arrangement will be determined by the Team Leader based on readiness and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Actively seek out and engage high-caliber civil engineering professionals using platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other sourcing tools.
- Work with hiring managers to ensure overall priorities are correctly assessed and processes are understood, identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions and fill critical positions as needed.
- Build and maintain candidate pipelines for roles ranging from Project Engineers and PE-licensed professionals to engineering technicians and field based team members.
- Engage candidates early, before they hit the job boards
- Track your sourcing efforts and continuously refine your approach
- Maintain job postings within our ATS (UKGPro) and other job boards including state websites, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.
- Screen resumes for appropriate skills, credentials, experience and knowledge.
- Conduct high volume of candidate screening calls and interviews for open positions as assigned to determine technical and cultural fit.
- Conduct in-person and virtual interviews with hiring managers and work with hiring managers to make hiring decisions.
- Draft offers for final approvals and extend offers to candidates.
Requirements:
- Experience recruiting in the civil engineering, construction, or AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
- A self-motivated recruiter who doesn't wait for applicants — you go find them.
- Experienced with recruiting tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, resume databases, and CRM/ATS platforms.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own sourcing strategy.
- Confident, persuasive, and personable in your candidate outreach.
- Experience with either a third-party agency or high-volume sourcing background and prefers an in-house environment where your impact is direct and visible.
