Position Title: Core Systems Manager
Reports To: Chief Technology Officer
General Purpose:
To oversee and maintain the core banking software and to manage the core systems team. Ensures that the bank’s most critical system functions properly, securely, and aligns with business goals. You will play a strategic and operational role at the heart of our technological infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day activities of core banking operations.
- Ensure the system is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with software vendors for support, customizations, and service level agreements.
- Identify inefficiencies in banking operations and work to automate or improve them through the core and ancillary systems.
- Monitor system performance, uptime and data integrity.
- Oversee implementation of new core banking systems or modules
- Manage upgrades, patches, and software migrations with minimal disruption.
- Coach, mentor and develop core systems staff by forming training and education plans, conducting timely performance evaluations, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and assisting with problem resolution.
- Work with other IT Services management members to seek input on group related infrastructure, hardware, software and communications.
- Work with other members of the Bank and seek input on core banking technology related items when necessary.
- Responsible for recommending core banking and related systems technology budget items and monitoring approved items for staying within budget.
- Participates in technology related committees and forums; both internally and externally.
- Responsible for participation in development, monitoring and maintenance of compliance with industry frameworks such as, but not limited to, Cybersecurity, PCI- DSS, and ACH Security.
- Assists with research and application of current and future projects.
- Required to be on-call outside of regular banking hours.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required preferably in business management, business administration, technology, or other related field
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in leadership/management role required (preferably in Banking)
