Check out this new opportunity! Electrical Harness Design Engineer Troy, MI Contract Position $55.70-$60.70/Hour Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance. Responsibilities: * Lead the design and development of electrical wiring harnesses for next-generation ground combat vehicles. * Select appropriate components including connectors, backshells, sealants, boots, transitions, sleeving, and braiding. * Determine harness layout and routing paths, including multi-branch configurations, throughout the vehicle. * Ensure designs meet environmental specifications for temperature, vibration, shock, submersion, and chemical exposure. * Utilize Capital Harness System (CHS) software (Harness XC, Capital Logic, Capital Topology) to model and document designs. * Collaborate with CAD drafters using Pro-E Creo and NX to route harnesses and generate engineering drawings and wiring diagrams. * Partner with systems engineering to define vehicle-wide pin-level interconnects. * Work with physical architecture teams to define routing channels and space allocations. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in electrical harness design or a related engineering discipline. * U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law. * Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance if required. * Preferred Qualifications: * Proficiency in Capital Harness System (CHS) software including Harness XC, Capital Logic, and Capital Topology. * Experience with 3D CAD tools, particularly Pro-E Creo and Siemens NX. * Familiarity with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office Suite. * Experience working in a military or ground combat vehicle environment. * Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies. * Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as required.
