Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: Teach undergraduate lecture and lab courses in a variety of programs related to the College of Technology and Occupational Sciences (e.g., industrial maintenance, indoor agriculture, HVAC, and welding), maintain lab equipment and participate in program development. Advise undergraduate students, participate in committee assignments and undertake professional development activities. Will be expected to incorporate application of laptop computers in the learning environment. This is a campus-based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Associate's Degree
Discipline/Degree Area: Career and technical program or skilled trade
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Associate's Degree required for rank of Instructor.
Master's Degree required for rank of Assistant Professor.
Required Minimum Work Experience: Three years full-time equivalent experience in a technical field or skilled trade.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Broad knowledge base in multiple career and technical disciplines such as industrial maintenance, indoor agriculture, HVAC, and welding.
Understanding of principles and methods for course development, teaching and instruction for groups of individuals, and assessment of outcomes.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with peers and students.
Ability to work effectively and productively with others.
Time management skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Teaching or training experience in both a lecture and lab setting.
Industry recognized credentials related to a program within the College of Technology and Occupational Sciences.
More than three years full-time equivalent experience in a technical field or skilled trade.
Strong relationships with current practicing industry professionals.
Recent experience working in a technical field or skilled trade.
