POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinates with Head Custodian to oversee, schedule and monitor the work of afternoon custodial employees and evening building operations. Monitors and ensures building cleanliness and security; performs preventative, minor, and exterior maintenance; May be called to respond to emergencies; may need to respond to emergencies to minimize and/or eliminate the need for school closures due to building problems. Performs additional responsibilities related to a specific functional area such as coordinating and overseeing the shipping and receiving of supplies and equipment for the school.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides work instruction, training, leadership, and coordination of custodial
Maintains assigned work areas within the
Coordinates work schedules to respond to work orders and ensures that work performed meets quality standards;
Monitors the building to identify and correct hazardous situations to prevent personal
Removes snow and salts sidewalks to maintain and ensure the safety of exterior
Responds to emergency and immediate building, furnishings, and equipment damages by repairing damaged furniture, removing all forms of graffiti within, around and/or on the building's exterior, and repairing vandalized
Training and mentoring: The custodial leader plays a crucial role in training new custodial staff members and providing ongoing guidance and support to the team and help develop the skills and knowledge of the staff to ensure high-quality work.
Coordinates the set-up and tear-down of seating and tables used for administrative meetings, after-school, evening and weekend activities including athletic events, concerts, plays, community education classes, dances, guest speakers,
Point of contact with building and event staff. Utilization of walkie talkie daily, required.
Responds to questions, complaints and needs of school district staff, students, parents, and the public to provide information and
Secures building when facilities are not in use, checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights; responds to notification of burglar or fire alarms from District approved security companies.
This position is also required to perform all those duties and responsibilities listed under the Custodial job
Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor and head Custodian.
Delegates work for afternoon and midnight custodians pertaining to events and work orders in assigned areas

EDUCATION:
This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.). EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years of related experience in custodial and building maintenance; two of these years as a CVS custodian,
Leadership experience, required.
Internal employees must have no more than one unsatisfactory evaluation in the four year period prior to applying for the
Work experience operating hand tools, power tools, snowplows, snowblowers, auto scrubbers, carpet extractors, floor scrubbers, carpet dryers, required
Work Experience in overhead work, step and/or rolling ladders up to 12 feet, extension ladders and vertical man lifts, required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Required to pass: Vertical Lift Certification
Must pass all written and skills
Required to pass certified pool operators course or Aquatic Facility Operators Certification within 6 months of being hired.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of basic math, including calculating amounts, percentages, units of measure, discounts, , required.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of works, rules of composition, and grammar, required.
Knowledge of basic computer skills, required.
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, occupational hazards, and safety precautions related to building maintenance, required.
