The Lansing Board of Water & Light has openings for an Engineer III, Reliability with our Asset Management Department located in Lansing, MI.
Job Type: Full-Time
Starting Salary Range: $91,746. - $111,930.
Implements a companywide asset management system focusing on the reliability engineering processes. This involves but is not limited to working with internal and external resources to train new engineers to the Asset Management (AM) and Reliability Engineering (RE) processes, mentor peers/interns, perform Capital Project Rankings, and create Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Asset Management Plans (AMPs).
Essential Functions:
- Develops, reviews, and updates departmental procedures and processes.
- Trains new engineers to the AM and RE processes.
- Leads project teams through the Reliability Engineering (RE) Processes to add/update asset information within the Asset Management System (AMS).
- Supports the Capital Project Process (e.g. Capital Project Rankings).
- Works on projects individually or with team members such as capital project studies.
- Identifies need for and/or facilitates various AMS activities such as Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Action and Management of Change.
- Reviews and creates Asset Management Plans (AMPs) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Performs/facilitates parts of the RE Processes without assistance (e.g. asset criticality assessments, critical spares evaluation, etc.).
- Communicates and provides direction to peers and assigned personnel (e.g. intern and Co-op students).
- Supports regulatory/compliance related requirements related to internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Supports internal and external enquiries associated with the assets. Responds as appropriate by reference to relevant information sources.
- Collects, analyzes, and acts on appropriate asset data efficiently to improve the functionally of the AMS.
- Has predictable and reliable attendance.
- Participation in the continuous improvement of the Asset Management System and Work Management processes.
- Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.
