Hardware Display Engineer Sterling Heights, MI Contract Position $57.85-$62.85/Hour Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance. Responsibilities: * Lead the design, development, and testing of ruggedized display hardware (LRUs/SRUs) for military vehicle platforms, from concept through production. * Support requirements analysis, hardware design, debugging, testing, and qualification of electronic subsystems. * Develop detailed specifications for circuit boards, LRUs, interface control documents (ICDs), and test plans. * Support component selection, procurement, and oversee prototype hardware builds. * Apply display-specific knowledge to select and integrate technologies such as LCD, OLED, LED, touchscreens, and head-mounted displays (HMDs). * Conduct display metrology and performance measurements; support LED bezel design and LCD backlight design/characterization. * Generate engineering design solutions, document changes, and track hardware/software revisions. * Contribute to IRAD (Internal Research and Development), proposal development, and demonstration efforts. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with military standards and ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) guidelines for vehicle integration. Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. * Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (required). * Experience: Minimum 1 year in display design or a related role. * Technical Skills & Experience: * Proficiency in display technologies (LCD, OLED, LED), display metrology, and architecture. * Experience with video distribution techniques, touchscreen interfaces, and ruggedized display LRU design. * Familiarity with military standards and test requirements. * Hands-on experience with display measurement tools and methods. * Strong ability to track and manage hardware/software revisions and design changes. * Understanding of LCD backlight design, LED bezel integration, and display ruggedization for military environments. * Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working on ground combat vehicle systems. * Knowledge of HMD systems and display integration in confined spaces. * Familiarity with military-grade environmental and performance test standards. * Ability to meet ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) for work inside military vehicles. * Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required. * Experience with continuous improvement and lean engineering practices.
