Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

As a member of the systems engineering team, the candidate will be the engineering tool owner for electron beam tools (like scanning electron microscopes) and will coordinate tool operating and maintenance activities across multi-functional teams.
The candidate will perform these tasks:
Coordinate with the KLA global tool user community to ensure local tools are available for engineers worldwide during their work shifts.
Complete critical tool performance calibration, specification validation, and periodic preventative maintenance.
Monitor local and remote tool performance and uptime, and lead efforts to quickly solve problems.
In the event of challenging and complex tool problems, perform detailed investigation into the root cause of the tool failure through a structured problem-solving process.
During critical activities, evening, weekend, and holiday on-call support may be needed.
Author clear and concise summaries of test results to share lessons learned with the technical community, and drive updates to service procedures on both development versions and released versions of tool products.
Collaborate with global KLA engineering community to find solutions to problems on candidate's tools and tools managed by other product engineers.
Troubleshoot and maintain semiconductor metrology and review tools to maintain both tool performance and uptime at high levels.
Work in an ISO Class 5 clean room.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required for initial training over a two-month period.
This role requires 5 days a week onsite presence.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical, Material Science, or Mechanical engineering.
Hands on experience in high voltage, ultra-high vacuum, and electron microscopy.
Inquisitive investigative skills for finding and solving system-level problems.
Effective communication regarding problems and challenges throughout equipment operation and maintenance, including but not limited to problem summary, target statement, and fix execution report.
Skilled at independently locating reference materials, troubleshooting issues, and proactively explore and assimilate new knowledge.
Design of Experiments (DOE) expertise.
Enthusiasm and curiosity to learn.
A solid understanding of precision instruments.
Semiconductor Capital Equipment OEM experience preferable.
Strong interpersonal presentation skills and technical writing skills.
5+ years of hands-on experience operating and servicing vacuum systems.
5+ years' experience working in a clean room.
Comfortable with scripting, Matlab, and statistics packages such as JMP.
Experience with electrical safety, and chemical hazard / safety.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
Base Pay Range: $91,900.00 - $156,200.00
