Make a Difference Through Education and Impact
As a Clinical Development Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the success of our clinical teams. This position focuses on onboarding, training, and mentoring nurses and field clinicians across our hospice service lines. You’ll help ensure consistent, high-quality care by leading orientation, conducting remedial education, and coaching staff using data and real-time observation. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a seasoned hospice nurse with a passion for teaching and developing others.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to Optimal Care service areas to lead training for new nurses and clinical staff
- Provide expert instruction on EMR, documentation, productivity standards, and care delivery
- Deliver remedial training when needed to support performance and compliance
- Partner with local leaders and supervisors to support clinician development and success
- Identify improvement opportunities using data and on-site observation
- Serve as a role model of professional, compassionate care aligned with hospice best practices
- Support continuous improvement by making recommendations based on field insights
- Train clinicians on hospice-specific protocols, including IDG, EOBs, consents, HHA supervisory visits, and more
- Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with stakeholders
- Contribute to the reduction of early-stage turnover through effective onboarding and mentorship
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or baccalaureate school of nursing
- Current RN license in the state of Michigan
- 2+ years of hospice or home health experience
- 1+ year in a supervisory, training, or educator role (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HCHB, hospice regulations (CoPs), and reimbursement models
- Exceptional communication, teaching, and leadership skills
- Ability to travel across Optimal Care locations
- Able to lift at least 35 lbs. and meet physical demands of the role

Location: Statewide travel across Careline service areas
Office Base: 24255 W 13 Mile Rd, STE 210, Bingham Farms, MI 48025
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (day hours), with occasional flexibility based on training needs
