REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Clinical technology experience; minimum five (5) years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
- Clinical degree in Medical Technology, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Pharmacy or related field.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience with computer information systems, software applications, providing support to users or equivalent experience in Data Processing.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Radiology, Nursing, Laboratory or related field.
- Experience in inter- and intra-departmental communications.
- Advanced computer skills required, including expertise with Windows operating systems, command-line utilities, system configuration, hardware and peripheral setup and technical troubleshooting across networked environments.
Preferred
- Associates Degree in Computer Science
- General knowledge in reporting writing for various areas of the hospital.
SUMMARY
- Analyzes, develops, configures, tests and implements Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and related analytics with minimal supervision.
- Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to end users for hardware, software and connectivity issues.
- Responds to service desk tickets related to hardware, software and connectivity issues.
- Participates in testing and validation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures
- Assists with access account audits and privileged access reviews across systems.
- Analyzes and develops necessary design work including testing and documentation.
- Assists in producing user requested reports, charts and diagrams.
- Reviews, evaluates and implements requests from user departments.
- Analyzes problems, determines cause and initiates corrective action.
- Assists in developing clear and concise documentation; instruction manuals.
- Provides in-service and other forms of continuing education of software and hardware to users.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and technology upgrades.
- Assists in providing initial education and training to staff on correct procedures and usage of the EMR systems as well as providing continuing educational support as required due to changes of processes, regulatory requirements or system enhancements.
- Coordinates and installs new software applications with user departments.
- Oversees computer applications to ensure proper use and security.
- Maintains a positive image when dealing with department personnel.
- Coordinates and participates in both internal and external user group functions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital Mission, Vision and Values, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior.
- Stays updated on emerging healthcare technologies and industry trends.
- Participates in IT on-call rotation to provide off-hours system and end user support.
