Director of IT Operations

Job Summary:
The Director of IT Operations is responsible for the stability, security, and performance of all IT systems and infrastructure supporting clinical, administrative, and compliance functions across the organization. This role ensures efficient, secure, and reliable operation and access to the organization's IT infrastructure, applications, services, and critical healthcare systems. The Director of IT Operations will lead a team of IT professionals, manage vendors, ensure that IT strategies align with the organization's goals and objectives, and support 24/7 availability of IT services essential to healthcare delivery.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT operations team including system administrators, network engineers and data specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement IT operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with senior IT management to align IT strategies with business objectives.
- IT Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and support of all IT infrastructure, including (physical/virtual) servers, networks, and data centers.
- It supports meaningful infrastructure transitions to the cloud, including Azure.
- It supports Power BI cloud infrastructure and security management.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems and services in a multi-campus, health care environment
- Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning, and execution in a multi-campus environment
- Provides support and oversight of the data communications network.
- Manages the change management process for the IT group.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement robust security measures to protect the organization's data and IT assets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments with the Chief Security Officer and the cybersecurity team.
- Technology Management:
- Work with internal/external stakeholders to understand and address their IT needs and requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and services to improve IT operations.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and services.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet current and future IT needs.
- Monitor and report on IT operational performance and metrics.
- Project Management:
- Lead and oversee IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project implementation.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT service delivery and efficiency.
- Foster a culture of innovation and learning within the IT operations team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and security.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale IT projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP,MSCE,) are a plus.

Work Environment:
This position is a hybrid position that typically works in an office environment multiple days per week but may require occasional travel.
The role may involve working outside regular business hours to address critical issues or oversee significant implementations.
