The Position
The Director of Early Childhood is responsible for ensuring the delivery of
high-quality Early Childhood Programs at Greater Midland. This leadership
role is responsible for achieving the highest possible results for each and
every child through the development of specific programmatic strategies;
developing and maintaining a uniform framework of best practices;
delivering relevant and strategic professional development; and holding a
place of leadership internally and externally in early childhood work.
Maintaining high personal standards, exceptional employee engagement
and customer service while carrying out the Purpose of GMCC are
imperatives.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Facilitate professional development and pedagogy.
? Ensure compliance with State of Michigan licensing policies and procedures.
? Lead quality improvement initiatives.
? Build strong employee engagement and a culture of success rooted in core values.
? Scale and deepen results-based work across Greater Midland Community Center ECE program.
? Administrative oversight to school-age programs and leadership of School Age Coordinator.
? Development of department budget and ongoing management and maintenance of annual budget.
? Fundraising and fund development as relates to department budget goals.
? Building and maintaining strong community partnerships/collaboration.
Qualifications
? Bachelor’s Degree required in Early Education, Child Development or related field (with LARA required administrative credits.)
? Minimum 3 years of classroom experience, minimum 2 years of program/department level leadership.
? Minimum 2 years of experience required in supervising staff team of 5+ employees.
Physical Requirements
Regular communication and contact with members, employees and children. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at computer work station, bending, twisting and stooping for filing and maintenance. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule
M-F 8am – 4pm, with weekend availability for special events
