Embedded Software & Web Application Engineer Sterling Heights, MI Contract Position $64.99-$69.99/Hour Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and support embedded software and web/database applications to enable predictive maintenance capabilities on GDLS combat vehicle platforms. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, integrate, and test PdM software components at subsystem and vehicle levels. * Develop and maintain modern web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and backend languages such as Python, PHP, or Java. * Create and manage relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and write optimized SQL queries. * Support embedded systems development including embedded Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal programming. * Interface with hardware systems, using protocols such as SPI, CAN, and Ethernet. * Participate in code reviews, documentation, debugging, and optimization to ensure performance, memory efficiency, and maintainability. * Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices in embedded systems and software engineering. Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software, web applications, and database development. * U.S. Citizenship required (due to the nature of defense programs). * Technical Skills: * Proficient in C/C++, and one or more backend languages (Python, PHP, Java). * Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development practices. * Experience with database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and advanced SQL queries. * Background in embedded system development (embedded Linux, RTOS, bare-metal, microcontrollers). * Familiarity with hardware interfaces and communication protocols (SPI, CAN, Ethernet). * Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git). * Preferred Attributes: * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. * Effective time management and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
