Essential Functions:
1. Provides excellent customer service to guests.
2. Keeps work area clean and stocked.
3. Counts cash register at beginning and end of shift.
4. Monitors work radio for emergencies and follows all zoo emergency procedures.
5. Informs supervisor of needed supplies, equipment repair, customer service issues and safety concerns.
6. Prepares and stores food to health code safety standards.
7. Prepares reports and tally sheets such as number of daily visitors, parking passes and guest passes.
Other Functions:
1. Performs other duties as assigned.
2. Must adhere to departmental standards in regard to HIPAA and other privacy issues.
3. During a public health emergency, the employee may be required to perform duties similar to, but not limited, to those in his/her job description.

Employment Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: Must have basic math skills. Prior cash handling experience preferred.
Demonstrates effective communication skills by engaging, interacting and working with individuals from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, disability status’, ages, LGBTQIA+ status’ and genders to ensure clarity and understanding in all interactions.

Requirements and Working Conditions
Working Conditions:
1. This position works in an indoor environment. There is no planned exposure to prominent lights, noises, odors, temperatures or weather conditions.
2. This position is exposed to variety of hazards such as traffic, moving vehicles, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, slippery surfaces, chemicals, cleaning solutions, oils, hazardous materials, etc.
3. This position is exposed to air quality conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation, etc.
4. This position is exposed to noise levels which require shouting in order to be heard.
5. This position is provided, and required to use, Personal Protection Equipment to minimize the risks associated with the working conditions listed above.
Physical Requirements:
1. This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, twist, bend, stoop/crouch, squat, kneel, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, handle, pinch, type, endure repetitive movements of the wrists, hands or fingers.
2. This position’s physical requirements require regular stamina in sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, bending, stooping/crouching, squatting, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, handling, pinching, typing and enduring repetitive movements of the wrists, hands or fingers
3. This position performs medium work requiring the ability to exert between 20-50 pounds of force in the physical requirements above.
4. This position primarily requires close visual acuity to perform tasks within arm’s reach such as: viewing a computer screen, using measurement devices, inspecting and assembling parts, etc.
5. This position primarily requires medium visual acuity to perform tasks at arm’s reach such as operating machinery, operating vehicles or heavy equipment, performing cleaning tasks, etc.
6. This position requires the ability to communicate and respond to inquiries both in person and over the phone.
7. This position requires the ability to operate a PC/laptop and to enter & retrieve information from a computer.
8. This position requires the ability to handle varying and often high levels of stress.
