POSITION OVERVIEW **Must be licensed in the state of Massachusetts and New Jersey.**The Pharmacist will oversee the daily production and maintain quality and service levels of all inbound and outbound prescriptions. Along with the members of the pharmacy team, the Pharmacist will provide high levels of customer service to patients to ensure they have a positive and exceptional experience in filling their prescriptions. The Pharmacist will also be a key contributor in the continued development of the pharmacy program and policies to ensure successful implementation and execution of the pharmacy's strategies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Verify prescriptions at any point of the workflow. * Maintain the standards of the pharmacy according to policy and procedures as well as Board of Pharmacy regulations. * Maintain daily production, quality and service levels. * Conduct patient consultations and answer prescription status questions. * Manage and oversee the work of Pharmacy Technician Supervisors and Pharmacy Technicians. * Additional responsibilities may include: * Interpreting physicians' prescriptions. * Contacting doctors, other prescribers and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions, such as prescription signature and drug name, in order to expedite processing of orders. * Ensure quality assurance of the work performed by Pharmacy Technician Supervisors and Pharmacy Technicians. * Contacting physicians for new and/or transfer authorization. * Consulting with patients, if applicable, regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions. * Backing up other pharmacists as needed and performing additional duties as assigned by management. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * BS degree or PharmD degree in Pharmacy, with 1-3 years of experience as a pharmacist required. * Must be licensed in the state of Massachusetts and New Jersey. Additional state licensures a plus. * Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate program details to patients on the phone. * Strong knowledge of pharmacy processes/procedures. * Ability to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with patients. * Ability to tackle problems and work well both independently and as part of a team. * Proficient to advanced PC skills, including Windows-based applications. * Strong focus on quality and customer service. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage multiple priorities.
