Job Title: Driver II – Passenger Transportation

Job Summary
The Saginaw County Commission on Aging is seeking an on-call Driver II available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend requirements. Up to 19 hours per week may be scheduled, though hours are not guaranteed. This position involves transporting senior passengers from their residences to various community facilities, medical appointments, recreational activities, and essential shopping trips.
Essential Functions
- 
Operate wheelchair lift mechanisms.
 
- 
Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle and with personal items such as coats, hats, mobility aids, etc.
 
- 
Escort passengers to the door of their destination.
 
- 
Maintain records of gasoline usage, mileage, passenger usage, etc., and prepare required reports.
 
- 
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and daily/weekly safety checks.
 
- 
Refuel vehicles and arrange for necessary oil changes, repairs, and maintenance.
 
- 
Clean vehicles to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.
 
- 
Oversee the general well-being of elderly clients using the service.
 
- 
Transport mail, equipment, and supplies between locations.
 
Minimum Qualifications
- 
Education: High school diploma or GED.
 
- 
Experience: Some experience driving a bus, van, or other commercial vehicle.
 
- 
Special Requirements:
- 
Valid Chauffeur’s license in the State of Michigan.
 
- 
Acceptable driving record per Saginaw County policy.
 
- 
Obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within six (6) months of hire.
