We are seeking a dynamic and strategic SVP of People and Culture to lead the development and execution of our people strategy, cultivate a high-performance culture, and position the company as an employer of choice. This individual will be responsible for driving all aspects of the employee experience, including talent acquisition, team member onboarding, team relations, payroll, benefits, DEI, and culture-building initiatives. JOB DUTIES * Serve as a trusted and thoughtful partner in delivering progressive and innovative people-focused programs to support Sun's team members and leaders in the areas of hiring, team member relations, compensation, benefits, and talent management. * Champion a high-performance culture by establishing clear expectations and recognition practices. * Lead and further develop a high-performing HR team aligned with company values and business priorities. * Demonstrate high levels of visibility, engagement, and servant leadership. * Regularly undertake measures to create a welcoming, energizing, and rewarding place to work. * Promote a culture of inclusion, engagement, and continuous improvement. * Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations across jurisdictions. * Provide vision and leadership that aligns with Sun's culture, mission, vision, and core business objectives. * Collaborate and thoughtfully communicate updates on key initiatives and programs to all levels of the organization. * Serve as a subject matter expert on HR-related laws and regulations. * Coach and counsel leaders on team relations skills to improve productivity, effectiveness, and mitigate risk while balancing the role as a team member advocate. * Develop and oversee the measurement of outcomes and deliverables through the use of feedback systems and metrics; implement initiatives to address and improve results. * Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures. * Other duties and projects as assigned. REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree in human resources or related field (Required) * Master's Degree (Preferred) * Minimum 10 years demonstrated success in leading people strategies across a multi-site, diverse organization (Required) * 10 years progressive leadership experience required (Required) * Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) (Preferred) * Ability to effectively lead in an intense, fast-paced environment * Ability to professionally handle sensitive situations and maintain strict confidentiality * Deep knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and emerging trends in workplace culture and talent development * Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills * Possesses a strong desire to do more, be better, and never satisfied with status quo * Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities * Visionary leader who can influence people inside and outside the organization REWARDING BENEFITS At Sun Communities, you will be part of an industry-leading organization where you will be challenged, inspired, rewarded and transformed.
