Job Summary:
As a Fertilization Technician, you will work on teams responsible for applying fertilizers, herbicides, and pest control treatments to maintain healthy turf and landscaping. You will assess soil conditions, diagnose issues, and implement treatment plans that promote plant health and sustainability. You will contribute to the efficiency and quality of work to maintain our client’s green spaces in peak condition. This position requires a hands-on approach to fertilization maintenance while receiving guidance and direction from the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Hands-On Fertilization Work- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides following industry best practices and safety regulations.
- Inspect lawns and landscapes- to diagnose nutrient deficiencies, weeds, and pest infestations and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Operate and maintain fertilization equipment- including spreaders, sprayers, and aerators.
- Perform routine maintenance- on equipment and ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.
- Calculate and mix chemical applications according to proper dilution ratios.
- Follow all safety procedures- regarding chemical handling, application, and storage.
- Keep accurate records of treatments, products used, and application schedules.
- Comply with Safety Standards – Adhere to a culture of safety and observe company policies.
- Communicate with fellow Crew members & Leadership- Provide updates and recommendations, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify and relay to supervisors opportunities to upsell customers on relevant services.
- Display reliable, responsible, and dependable behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Previous experience in lawn care, fertilization, or pesticide application, preferred.
- Knowledge of turfgrass management, soil health, and plant nutrition.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain fertilization and spraying equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and document precise application instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred).
- Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- A willingness to learn and grow within our company.
- Required Certification: State Pesticide Applicator License in 3a, 3b, and 6 (or willingness to obtain).

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Wage: $18.00/ hour

Required Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Required Certification: State Pesticide Applicator License in 3a, 3b, and 6 (or willingness to obtain).
