job purpose:
The Sr. Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the leadership and management of the overall Warehouse department, systems and strategies for the onsite warehouse team at the manufacturing site located in Coopersville, MI with a dotted line oversite to existing and future third party warehousing relationships. Reporting to the Director of Warehousing, this role will be accountable for the safety, quality, productivity, and financial targets across all of the warehouse operations. They will oversee the site's supply chain system to include all storage, receiving, and loading of raw materials, finished products, bulk product loading of totes and tankers, dry ingredient receiving, and case pick. The role will ensure optimized storage, the execution of continuous improvement projects throughout the facility to improve product flow and the utilization and enhancement of WMS and similar systems within the warehouse to meet short/long-term needs. Accuracy in inventory and maximization of available space is a key aspect of this role. The Sr. Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for properly maintaining all warehouse facilities and equipment, and for the development and support of all warehouse staff.
responsibilities:
Responsible for daily third-party logistics (3PL) communication and process improvement, on-site warehouse operations and inventory control team for a five-line dairy manufacturing plant.
Communicate and engage with the workforce at every level to build trust, continuity, and collaboration throughout the teams, consistently demonstrating the fairlife culture of Believe in Better
Manage the teams for the receiving, handling, storage, movement, and inbound materials for production and outbound finished goods to meet daily production goals and identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency
Partner with fairlife supply chain and Coca-Cola NAOU to ensure inventory management and customer service expectations are achieved
Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Facilitate and control inventory levels by designing and executing a best-in-class cycle counting program
Maintain physical condition of the warehouse by continuously improving and implementing optimized layouts, inspecting equipment, executing on 5S initiatives and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
Grow a high-performing team of capable leaders and operators with an ownership mindset by establishing effective training and development programs and work standards
Develop and enable warehouse metrics that drive Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Customer Service
Achieve financial objectives by managing the P&L, efficiencies, productivity, workforce effectiveness,analyze variances and establish corrective actions
Leverage available data and systems to move the warehouse organization into the digital age, finding opportunities to eliminate manual or paper-based workflows and replace them with technology-enabled processes that improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team
Maintain FEFO methodology using the warehouse management system, reporting & analytics
skills/qualifications required:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred or six years of experience in a production CPG warehouse setting and/or a combination of experience and education
Demontsrated leadership experience in warehouse, logistics or supply chain operations field required, including the ability to lead and inspire teams across multiple shifts, empowering employees to do their jobs in the most effective way
Demonstrated working knowledge of inventory controls, shipping and receiving methodologies
Direct experience with lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives, specifically in a warehouse setting
Familiarity with typical WMS capabilities and processes, including the ability to design and implement those processes on-site
Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
