Primary Responsibility:
The Clinical Supervisor oversees clinical service delivery, supervises professional staff, supports clinic operations, and manages a personal caseload. The role ensures compliance with internal policies, third-party payers, and State of Michigan regulations, while promoting high-quality behavioral health care and best practices.
Essential Job Functions:
Clinical Supervision & Leadership:

Provide supervision to clinical staff including therapists and case managers.

Oversee and approve clinical documentation, service delivery, and person-centered planning.

Conduct clinical file reviews and ensure documentation meets regulatory and accreditation standards.

Collaborate with the Clinical Director on case reviews and administrative tasks.

Ensure Orientation Team Meetings (OTMs) are scheduled and conducted; assign cases to clinical staff.

Maintain compliance records and training documentation.

Assist the Clinical Director in audits, staff training, and development of best practice materials.

Represent the agency in meetings with community partners and share information with staff.

Lead and document regular team meetings.
Direct Clinical Service:

Maintain a clinical caseload per agency productivity standards.

Perform biopsychosocial assessments and create person-centered treatment plans with measurable goals.

Provide individual and family therapy services.

Complete billing entries and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in compliance with all applicable standards.

Conduct progress reviews and submit re-authorization requests as required.

Use standardized tools to assess outcomes and contribute to agency data collection.
Quality Assurance & Ethics:

Ensure clinical practices align with agency, State, CARF, and payer standards.

Monitor documentation quality and timeliness through routine audits.

Promote ethical practice in all service areas, adhering to the Social Work Code of Ethics.

Provide guidance to staff regarding confidentiality, ethical issues, and best practices.

Assist with audits, accreditation reviews, and reporting outcomes.
Marginal Job Functions:

Attend external meetings related to clinical operations.

Participate in agency strategic planning and contribute to annual reports.

Support policy development and implementation.

Aid in developing programs based on evidence-based practices.

Promote safety and risk management for staff and clients.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Master’s Degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling from an accredited institution.

Valid Michigan licensure: LMSW, LLMSW, LPC, or LLPC.

Clinical experience with adults, youth, and families in behavioral health settings.

Strong written communication and computer skills.
