Teamsters Clerical - 37.5 hours
- Appraises real estate and personal property for equalization purposes, including the appraisals of agricultural, commercial, industrial, and residential property. Develops land values and ECFs for all categories of property.
2. Selects and applies any approved combination of property valuation techniques applicable and necessary to the accurate determination of property values.
3. Analyzes data, values property, prepares findings, and defends valuations.
4. Conducts field inspections to verify sales and/or measure residential, personal, and agriculture sites, structures and property, and prepares valuation appraisals.
5. Verifies the accuracy of property descriptions, details on condition of structures, property improvements, and land use.
6. Performs research on residential sales in the county to establish market value and to assist with developing department reports.
7. Assists local assessors and county personnel in the appraisal process for all classes of property and interpreting operating manuals, procedures, maps, diagrams, and blueprints.
8. Assists department staff by developing special reports, relaying communications, and updating property valuation formulas.
9. Responds to citizen and professional appraiser questions and concerns regarding the valuation of property and/or particular property information.
10. Keeps abreast of legislative and regulatory developments and current issues through continued education and professional growth. Attends conferences, workshops, and seminars as appropriate.
11. Performs personal property audits.
12. Responsible for proper house numbers and maintaining accurate maps.
13. Maintains and upgrades individual property files in both electronic format and hard copy.
14. Performs other duties as directed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works both in an office and in the field. While in the office, the employee is regularly required to communicate in person and by telephone, read regular and small print, view and produce written and electronic documents, and enter data on a computer keyboard with repetitive keystrokes. The employee must be mobile both in an office setting and in the field with the ability to stand, sit, stoop and kneel, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift or push/pull objects of up to 25 lbs. without assistance. Accommodation will be made, as needed, for employees required to lift or move objects that exceed this weight.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works both indoors and outdoors and regularly travels between work sites using a motor vehicle. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud.
