GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs a variety of general maintenance and assists with major maintenance within the department such as troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, electrical and HVAC equipment,
and maintenance and repair of miscellaneous equipment (desks, chairs, tables and doors).
Sets up and breaks down before and after functions, as well as unlocking doors and securing
doors before and after functions. Custodial, snow removal and grounds work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs general maintenance within and outside of buildings.
• Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving plumbing, electrical, equipment repair or replacement.
• Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets, sinks and urinals. Fixes water
leaks in faucets, toilets and urinals.
• Performs routine electrical repairs such as light bulbs and assists in repairing ballasts and light fixtures.
• Purchases supplies as needed for maintenance and custodial needs.
• Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards and moves and sets up table and chairs.
• Performs various repairs, including replacing door knobs and locks, repairing and replacing door closures and patching holes in walls.
• Paints interior and exterior of buildings.
• Performs preventative maintenance, including replacing filters in air handler units, driving
county cars in for general maintenance and assisting in snow removal and dispensing of sault.
• Completes necessary forms and paperwork regarding work and activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
The position involves very heavy physical demands, such as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
