The Position
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director and Executive Director, the Active Older Adult Engagement Specialist is responsible for managing
external/internal rentals, as well as maintaining partner agency
contracts/leases. In addition, The Active Older Adult Engagement
Specialist will recruit and direct volunteer efforts and provide planning and logistical support for community events including races and other
community engagement opportunities. The Active Older Adult
Engagement Specialist must maintain high personal standards and adhere
to, and carry out, the Purpose and Values of Greater Midland.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Build strong relationships with community members, businesses and organizations.
? Grow, plan, promote and coordinate rental opportunities and special events.
? Grow, recruit and direct all volunteer efforts.
? Plan, prepare and administer rental agreements for external and
internal groups ranging from internal programs, events, and long-term leases to scheduling Curling Center rentals and Camp Neyati user groups.
? Cultivate a close working relationship with housekeeping and
maintenance teams to facilitate the set-up and tear-down of rental spaces and events.
? Foster a strong collaborative relationship with program directors,
managers and coordinators to ensure adequate and timely scheduling for program operations.
? Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
? Complete, in a timely manner, requests and assignments from supervisors.
? Provide leadership to community groups as a Community Center
liaison.
? Consistently demonstrate behaviors aligned with Greater Midland Values.
Qualifications
? Minimum 2 years of experience in either/or a combination of customer service, sales, office/administrative roles.
? Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to use Microsoft Office, ability to learn and become fluent in
other software to effectively complete job responsibilities.
? Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Physical Requirements
Office is located in Greater Midland Community Center. Regular communication and contact with vendors, employees, and members. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at a computer workstation; bending and stooping for filing and maintenance.
Schedule
Various times 4-5 days a wk.
