KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Data Operations to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a team of Managed Service Provider (MSP) individuals, ensuring efficient monitoring of data pipelines and rapid response to any incidents
Ensure the stability and reliability of the data platform, addressing technical issues as they arise; maintain comprehensive documentation for data operations processes, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting guides
Work to ensure that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met by monitoring performance against metrics and implementing corrective actions as needed
Provide input for roadmap planning and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within data operations; liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration on data operations initiatives and priorities
Oversee daily monitoring and analysis of end-to-end data performance and communicate results and findings to relevant stakeholders
Offer guidance and coaching to internal and MSP technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development; serve as the point of escalation for any operational issues, working to quickly resolve problems and minimize impact on business operations
Qualifications:
Minimum five years of recent experience in managing data operations, with a strong understanding of data pipeline monitoring and incident response
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer science, management information systems, computer engineering or related field is preferred
Familiarity with Managed Service Provider operations and collaboration; Experience in providing input for strategic planning and roadmap development
Strong documentation skills, with the ability to create and maintain detailed technical documents; Demonstrated ability to meet SLAs and performance metrics, with a focus on continuous improvement; strong analytical and problem-solving skills is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; ability to analyze data performance and translate findings into actionable insights; proven experience in mentoring and coaching technical staff is a plus
Practical experience with relevant data technologies and tools such as Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage and GenAI; proven track record of successfully managing and resolving data incidents is desired
