Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist provides and coordinates physical therapy services to students assigned to the caseload. Works directly with students in prescribed treatment program. Services may be provided in center programs, constituent school district programs, project CHOICE classrooms or a different service format, depending on the individual needs of the student(s).
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
1. Conducts physical therapy evaluations of suspected handicapped students or of special education students through the referral or Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) process.
2. Provides and coordinates physical therapy services to students assigned to the caseload.
3. Attends MET and Individualized Education Planning Committee (IEPC) meetings when requested.
4. Develops individualized annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for students in the caseload as per physicians' prescriptions.
5. Maintains appropriate student records.
6. Employs physical and mechanical treatment methods.
7. Coordinates the activities of and instructs the physical therapist assistant and/or aide if assigned.
8. Consults with staff, parents/guardians, physicians, and others regarding physical therapy services and adaptive equipment.
9. Assists students with adaptive equipment needs.
10. Consults, counsels and collaborates with parents, school personnel, students and appropriate community agencies regarding behavioral and educational concerns developed in a multi-tiered system of support.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,435.00 - $85,717.00 per year
