Have to be located in Minnesota to apply - Thank you As an Underwriting Information Representative , you'll work in a fast-paced environment helping people who are applying for life or disability insurance . Your job is to be the main point of contact over the phone during the underwriting process - that's the stage where the insurance company gathers information to decide whether or not to approve someone's application. Here's what you'd typically do: * Call applicants to ask about their medical history, based on a script and follow-up questions. You'll ask about any health conditions they've listed and help fill in the gaps for the underwriters. * Answer incoming calls from applicants who may have questions about their application status or the information we're asking for. * Explain things clearly to applicants and sometimes calm concerns or confusion. * Follow up on any missing paperwork or reports to keep things moving quickly. * Work with outside vendors , like medical exam companies, to make sure we're getting the needed info on time. * You're essentially the voice of the company during this part of the insurance process. What you'll need: * A clear, professional phone voice and excellent communication skills. * Good judgment and the ability to listen carefully and ask follow-up questions based on what the caller says. * Comfort with fast-paced work and handling a high number of calls. * The ability to think on your feet , solve problems quickly, and work well with a team.
