Responsible for managing a team of CNC programmers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that all programming tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. They oversee the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of CNC programs for various machines, such as mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines, using CAD/CAM software. The role also involves ensuring part quality by reviewing programs, troubleshooting machine setup and tooling issues, and collaborating with quality control and engineering teams. Additionally, the CNC Programmer Lead coordinates with production teams to ensure smooth machine operations and efficient utilization. They are also responsible for ensuring safety compliance, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, and overseeing the maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines. Regular documentation of procedures and reporting to management on progress, performance, and efficiency are also key components of the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate’s degree or certificate in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC programmer, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
