Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Engineering Designer to join our Land Development (Civil/Site) team in our Lansing, MI office!
We engage with our clients as a strategic partner providing complete civil and site consulting and engineering services to both public and private clients. This partnership begins with comprehensive site feasibility evaluations as part of the due diligence process to identify potential pitfalls and implement strategies to overcome them. We have extensive experience in traditional residential development as well as commercial project types including office, retail, financial, educational, restaurant, mixed-use, healthcare, landfill, energy, industrial, and warehouse.
Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
Develop drawings by modifying or replicating a prior project, applying changes and corrections from redlined drawings, and/or creating drawings from sketches of others or from own design.
Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and respond to requests for information regarding same.
Work with senior-level engineers to create project designs.
Create models, including 3D models.
Reserch design options and document fidnings for project engineer/manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering required.
EIT (Engineer in Training) certification preferred.
Interest in land development (civil/site) engineering projects; prior internship experience preferred.
Solid CAD skills, including AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD.
Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
