Job Description
The Summer Youth Job Coach directly assists high school-age and young adults at businesses in the community. Teaching by example, task completion, and job skills, which may include developing modifications or providing accommodations, and helping to develop soft skills, social skills, and motivation, with the goal of learning job skills and employer expectations. The coach will assess strengths and abilities and teach how to use them effectively. The coach monitors and evaluates progress, keeping accurate records and documentation, and communicates effectively and professionally with the host businesses, supervisors, and individuals. The coach must ensure that quality work standards are met.
Requirements
- Mandatory background and driving record check
- Preferred experience or education working with people with disabilities
- Writing, simple math, typing, and some computer skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to teach general soft skills and task-specific job skills
- Training and support will be provided
No weekends or holidays
Part-time up to 30 hours per week
Monday-Friday
Wage negotiable depending on experience and education
Possible advancement opportunities with the right aptitude and ability
90 day performance review if the position is extended
