Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and supervise therapeutic group and individual occupational therapy sessions.
- Design interventions tailored to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial needs of prisoners.
- Facilitate activities such as sewing, painting, woodworking, and vocational simulations to improve functional abilities.
- Evaluate patient needs using clinical observation and electronic medical record (EMR) reviews.
- Coordinate therapy services with other treatment team members.
- Maintain and order necessary materials and supplies for program operations.
- Document all therapy sessions and interventions accurately.
Occupational Therapist Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Michigan.
- Ability to relate to and treat diverse patient needs.
- Strong assessment, management, and documentation skills.
- Capability to work in various settings regardless of patient demographics.
- Integrity and sound judgment in handling confidential matters.
- Adaptability to changing organizational needs.
- Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
