As a Commissioning Engineer, you'll be a hands-on problem solver, working within a dynamic international team to start up, optimize, and fine-tune our advanced sortation solutions.
Your Impact: You'll craft and optimize C++ and PLC programs using Allen Bradley, configure custom databases, develop safety program documentation, compile comprehensive checklists, and lead on-site commissioning of sorter systems.
Location & Travel: This position is based in Grand Rapids, offering the flexibility of a hybrid work model when not traveling to customer locations. Expect up to 75% travel to exciting project sites.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,875 - $121,550 annually at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
What You'll Do In This Role:
Optimally complete commissioning activities for sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software.
Ensure sorter is integrated with interfaces for accurate signal transmission between systems.
Develop and complete testing that covers all aspects of the system, including functionality, performance and reliability.
Conduct preliminary safety assessments to identify hazards.
Commission PLC programs, completing testing and making real-time adjustments based on data collected.
Maintain detailed documentation of programming, changes made, and results from the testing phase.
Compile procedures, test results, and safety compliance into a comprehensive report for reference.
What We Are Looking For:
5+ years of technical experience in automation, industrial or material handling fields as technician or Commissioning Engineer.
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in electronic, electrotechnics, electrical, mechatronic, Automation or IT engineering.
Willingness to travel up to 75% of time domestically and internationally.
Knowledge in programming software including Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens. C++ is not required, but is a plus.
Strong orientation to reach the targets, initiative, autonomy, and propensity to work in team.
