Education and Experience:
- Must have an associate’s degree in a related field, with an intention of obtaining a bachelor's degree. Candidates with a bachelor's degree may be given preference.
- Must have at least two years (4,000 hours) of recent and relevant paid work experience in the Sales and Marketing field within the last ten years of hire date and maintained throughout the period of employment until a standard CTE teaching certificate is earned. Evidence of work experience must be included with the application.
- Must be able to demonstrate current technical knowledge and ability in the Sales and Marketing field.
- Experience in teaching or employee training is preferred.
- Successful experience relating to students of various skill levels, academic levels, learning styles, and diverse ethnic and gender backgrounds.
- Successful experience working cooperatively with others.
- Knowledge of potential student work experience and cooperative education placements preferred.
- Knowledge and ability to demonstrate basic computer skills. Candidates with proficiency in using technology for instruction and communication may be given preference.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Candidates must have or be able to obtain appropriate professional certification and endorsement upon employment. For this position, that may initially be an Annual Career Authorization or a Standard Career & Technical Education (CTE) certification and endorsement upon employment. If a fully certified occupational teacher is not available, consideration may be given to an applicant who has the experience to qualify for Annual Career Authorization. A valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record is required for this position.
