Geographic Information Systems Co-op (07890)
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Co-op will be responsible for assisting in GIS support of Gas Transmission Engineering business activities, and maintaining the GIS Database and data sets. Responsbilities may include:
Assist with production and printing of custom maps
Obtaining GIS data from public and/or private sources
Digitize, scan, import and manipulate data, as assigned
Reading and interpreting source documents and entering data into the GIS
Assisting with document linking of scanned records between ESRI ArcGIS & Documentum (Document Management system)
Create polygonal shapes from historic parcel information and lin parcel data from spreadsheets or database (s)
Other duties, as assigned
Compensation: Wage determined by class standing
Job Status: Minimum 24 hours/wk (during standard business hours, Monday - Friday)
Work Environment: Office, field or power plantsQualifications
Must be enrolled in a college, majoring in Geographic Information Systems
Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA
Minimum of 1 year experience creating and editing geospacial data and metadata using ESRI ArcGIS software versions 9.3 or 10.0
Knowledge of cartographic procedures and experience generating maps
Above average knowledge of Work, Excel and Powerpoint.
Microstation and/or AutoCAD CAD software experience helpful
