Responsibilities
Under general supervision the Oncology Acute RN Coordinator is responsible to oversee the oncology service areas related to clinical trials and nurse navigation. Assists the patient as they navigate through the system before during and/or after a cancer diagnosis. Coordinates patient centered activities, including but not limited to support group, outreach, referral patterns, physician appointment and survivorship program. Oversees the cancer registry to ensure accurate and timely submission of data. Demonstrates professional accountability in the acknowledgement of, and compliance with accepted standards of nursing practice as well as a commitment to act within ethical principles; uses independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to fulfill this responsibility.
Position is full time Monday-Friday.
At least 3 years of acute care RN experience required; preferably in an Oncology setting.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Current and valid state RN License.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
A minimum of three (3) years experience in an acute care hospital environment preferred.
Excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication skills essential.
Team approach to patient care.
Working knowledge of computers and computer applications.
Day and evening flexibility required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
