Summary of Position: | Under the direction of the Head Hockey Coach, recruit and coach student athletes in the hockey program. Coordinate recruitment activities to assure NCAA compliance in student contracts and recruitment budget. Assist with a variety of duties related to the hockey program.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | Hockey coaching experience at a Division I institution.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Recruit top caliber student athletes to Division 1 varsity hockey program. Recruit junior/midget leagues in North America/Europe using in person evaluations-video evaluations or zoom techniques.
Coordinate defensive line changes and/or analyze opponent’s techniques and systems for the press box during varsity games.
Work with the forwards during practices and games to enhance skill development and offensive concepts in conjunction with the head coach philosophy.
Instruct and/or assist with marketing and/or administrative duties during summer hockey camps.
Perform video analysis on opposing teams and work with coaches to prepare scouting reports.
Analyze team video to be used for coaching the team and individual coaching on weekly/daily basis.
Insure NCAA compliance in hockey recruitment activities by maintaining appropriate documentation.
Coordinate and oversee the identification of teams to evaluate timely prospect lists and to insure that visitations are in compliance with NCAA standards.
Promote the public image of Bulldog Hockey by coordinating and/or attending a variety of promotional events and programs such as the Maroon and Gold game, Blueline Club golf outing, etc.
Oversee Annual recruiting budget
Create-plan-implement annual Blue Line Club Golf Outing for revenue generation / alumni purposes.
Oversee Athletics GA in charge of monitoring/meeting with our student athletes in regard to their academic progress as needed on an annual basis.
Coordinate coaching of the defensive team in addition to general assistant coaching duties.
Assist in preparing NCAA required in-season and out-of-season paperwork which includes team schedule and contracts if needed.
Assume Head Coaches’ responsibilities in his absence.
Performs all duties in compliance with applicable University policies and procedures and state and federal requirements.
Reports directly to Head Hockey Coach.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
Assumes responsibility for decision making in absence of head coach.
Operates university motor or personal vehicles safely while carrying out job responsibilities.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
