What you will work on…
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment, HVAC systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs according to established schedules and protocols.
- Clearly explain identified equipment and building issues and propose well-thought-out solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs, in compliance with cGMP and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
- Determine the cause of assigned facility or equipment issues; identify and coordinate the procurement of parts, supplies, or equipment needed to resolve the issue.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior maintenance technicians, sharing expertise and best practices.
- Perform project lead tasks on assigned small to mid-size projects, which include assigning project-related tasks to team members and ensuring the project is completed timely and accurately.
- Coordinate with outside contractors or vendors on the installation and/or repair of equipment and facility components.
- Assist with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere upon request.
- Participate in safety audits and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
What you need to succeed…
- Highschool diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
- HVAC/Boiler, electrical, plumbing and production equipment system knowledge.
- Well-versed in general safety, lift safety, lock-out tag-out, and forklift safety.
- Read and interpret drawings, OEM instructions, and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR record.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize the standard tools of the trade.

Great to have…
- College degree or Vocational training in relevant fields of study.
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Trained forklift operator.

- Lift or move products and supplies, up to 75 pounds.
- Able to work at varying heights and in tight spaces if needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
Full-time position. The company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a – 6p with production-related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts. This position will have regular working hours during M-F with an expectation of adjusting to working outside of the standard operating hours as needed. Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area. Travel between locations is expected in the role.
