Title: Network Engineer Department: Information Technology

Job summary:
A highly skilled Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team in supporting and maintaining the local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) and Windows Active Directory infrastructure within our medical health system. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and optimal performance of our network systems, as well as providing technical support in a team environment. Your role will be critical in maintaining the seamless operation of our healthcare network, ensuring data integrity, and delivering exceptional IT services to support patient care.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably within a healthcare or medical environment.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in configuring and supporting LAN/WAN networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Strong expertise in managing and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory, including user administration, group policies, and security.
- Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA, HITECH, and HITRUST, is a plus.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
- Understanding of network security principles, including firewall configurations, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access control lists.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex network issues and provide effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and end-users.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
