As a Dining Services Cook with the Fairview Skilled Nursing Campus at Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Fairview. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Oscoda County to provide services to seniors. In this position, you will bring a high school diploma or equivalent, with one to two years of experience as a cook (preferred). Knowledge of special diets, food safety, and HACCP is helpful.
As a Dining Services Cook, you will:
- Be able to complete required duties within time restraints
- Must be courteous and respectful of our residents and co-workers
- Serve as supervisor in charge of kitchen when DSD or dietary manager is not on duty
- Review menus and spreadsheets to determine food to be prepared for each meal
- Prepare meals according to recipes; follows HACCP procedures to insure food safety
- Prepare therapeutic and modified texture diets
- Prepare alternate food selections, sandwiches, and soups for lunch and dinner
- Review menu and spreadsheets for the following days to determine any prep work to be completed
- Load food into steam table
- Break down and clean steam table
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize pots and pans
- Clean work area and do daily cleaning
