The Position
Under the direction of the Director of Membership and Events, the Tennis
Shop Manager is a results-driven sales representative who actively seeks
out and engages customers, while providing exceptional member and
guest service. Position will ensure that member service and satisfaction,
operating procedures and merchandising priorities are aligned with the
standards of the Greater Midland Tennis Center. This individual must
maintain high personal standards and adhere to and carry out mission of
the Greater Midland Community Centers.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Supervision of the tennis shop staff.
? String racquets and train Tennis Shop Staff to be proficient tennis racquet stringers.
? Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, assigning
and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing and resolving challenges.
? Intake and process stringing orders.
? Maintain working knowledge of all operating and inventory systems.
? Supervise and conduct biannual and annual inventory counts and
reconciliation.
? Working with the Business Operations Manager, set and seek to
achieve annual goals and budget.
? Responsible for working with Business Operations Manager on
reporting Monthly Financial/Inventory Reporting to include Monthly
Cost of Goods Sold and Annual Sales to Budget comparisons and
Forecasting for the Pro Shop.
? Sell and maintain tennis shop merchandise, maintain effective stock levels and ensure stock presentations are appropriate.
? Receive and price merchandise, enter into POS system.
? Consistently demonstrates leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values.
Qualifications
? Minimum 2-4 Years Retail Management experience
? Must have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service, exceptional “people” skills and high level of enthusiasm and professionalism.
? Must have strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and leadership qualities.
? Must have knowledge and willing to learn about the inventory and
point of sale system – (Club Automation)
? Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
? Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing for up to four hours at a time. Frequent use of hands/fingers associated with stringing machine and computers.
Schedule
Various hours Monday-Saturday
