
The Charter Township of Shelby Parks, Recreation & Maintenance Department, is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Senior Center Aide. Interested applicants must be available to work approximately 2-3 days per week, Monday - Friday, typically from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. The hourly wage for this position is $16.97 per hour, no benefits.? Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a current driver's license and clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate staff members.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of documents, records, and reports.
- Maintain accurate databases and records related to program participation, events, and services.
- Schedule appointments and assist with the coordination of programs, events, bus transportation, etc. for seniors.
- Greet visitors and provide general information about services offered at the Senior Center.
- Help track inventory of supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
- Support staff with various clerical duties related to the daily operation of the Senior Center.
Qualifications:
- Experience in office administration or clerical work is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) or similar office software.
- Ability to work effectively with the senior population.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, customer-service-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- May require occasional light physical tasks (e.g., setting up for events, organizing materials).
