The Position
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Front-End Web Developer (“Developer”) will collaborate with internal stakeholders to craftexceptional user interfaces and consumer-facing website designs. The Developer will focus on creating engaging and functional experiences for users by ensuring that every visual and interactive element is both appealing and intuitive. The Developer will implement user interface designs, adding interactivity and enhancing user experiences through animations, forms, and real-time features. The Developer will also prioritize web performance optimization, debugging, and accessibility to create user-friendly and inclusive digital experiences. The Developer will collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to design, develop, and maintain websites, web application interfaces, and digital experiences. The Developer must maintain high personal standards and adhere to and promote the Purpose and Values of Greater Midland.
Major Job Responsibilities
Technical Implementation
? Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to define project requirements and timelines.
? Develop and maintain web pages and applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
? Implement user-facing features using front-end libraries and frameworks (e.g., React, Gatsby, Vue.js).
? Ensure applications adhere to SEO principles and accessibility standards.
? Integrate and manage various content management systems.
? Conduct routine site audits and perform ongoing maintenance as needed.
Design and Development
? Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
? Design visual elements for websites, ensuring alignment with branding
guidelines.
? Create and present mock-ups for approval.
? Participate in the iterative design process, incorporating feedback from
team members and stakeholders.
? Communicate design concepts through user flows, process flows, site
maps and wireframes.
Performance and User Experience
? Test website and application functionality, providing feedback to enhance user experience.
? Monitor and improve web application performance by collecting user
feedback and making necessary adjustments.
? Resolve functionality issues such as dead links or broken images.
? Debug and resolve front-end issues to ensure smooth functionality and
cross-browser compatibility.
Leadership and Values

Qualification Requirements
? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Design, or related field preferred.
? 2+ years of experience in web design or front-end development, with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive web designs and creative problem-solving.
? Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability and accessibility standards.
? Familiarity with content management systems and their integration.
? Possess strong design instincts and a passion for both design and coding, with a strong desire to grow technical skills.
? Proven experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
? Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma or Canva.
? Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
? Analytical, detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving abilities.
? Eagerness to grow coding skill and stay at the forefront of web design trends and technologies.
? Creativity and critical thinking to optimally implement new features.
? Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability.
Physical Requirements
Office is located in the Greater Midland Community Center. Regular communication and contact with vendors, employees and members. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at computer workstation; bending and stooping for paperwork filing and maintenance. May be required to lift up to 45 lbs.
