SALARY RANGE: $23.34/hr to $32.48/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position protects and promotes the legal rights of Pathways recipients as
guaranteed by the Mental Health Code, Board Policy and other applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Duties will include the review, recording, reporting and investigating/intervening of apparent or suspected
rights violations. This will include obtaining and analyzing factual information to determine when a
preponderance of evidence exists to substantiate an allegation. This position will also provide training and
consultation to employees and contract employees and will advocate for the rights of recipients at all times
and comply with reporting requirements as established by Mental Health Code and policies and
procedures. Travel to other locations/sites to meet with individuals and conduct investigations is critical.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, criminal justice, or a law degree. One
year of experience in advocacy, education, investigation, human services, mental health, law, or other
related area. Must have good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to understand,
interpret, and apply legal standards, and write reports which can be used in administrative and other legal
proceedings. Experience with working with individuals with a developmental disability or mental illness is
preferred.
