The Lansing Board of Water & Light has an opening for a Supervisor, Warehouse Operations, located in Lansing, MI.
Job Type: Full-Time
Starting Salary Range: $91,746. - $111,930.
Position Summary:
Manages and deploys operational strategy, business process, and systems for Warehouse operations, including safety, order fulfillment, warehousing, receiving, inventory management, customer service, transportation, and continuous improvement. Communicates and manages performance targets that align with the company objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Establishes inventory management plans and procedures to make decisions necessary to align inventory levels with organizational objectives, sourcing strategies, and budgetary parameters.
- Direct supervision of others' work activities. Planning, monitoring, and reviewing the work of subordinates is required. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal, and professional development.
- Supports development and implementation of supply chain management process improvements.
- Create and maintain a Plan for Every Part.
- Ensures materials are pulled promptly to support customer’s needs.
- Effectively monitors the flow of materials and implements First in, First out (FIFO).
- Lead physical inventory and cycle count process. Research inventory discrepancies and provide documentation for adjustments.
- Assures all areas of responsibility are organized, clean, and maintained utilizing the 6S methodology.
- Department lead for Safety, Asset Management, Work Management, and Organizational Change Management initiatives.
- Develops and implements process improvements, cost savings, and operational Efficiencies.
- Provide appropriate training, support, and mentorship to the team.
- Oversees safety, shipping, receiving, warehousing, storage, stock handling, inventory, delivery, and disposal of materials and equipment.
- Develop procedures and deliver training to instruct employees on methods, performance standards, rules, and regulations affecting their work.
- Manages hazardous waste removal, disposal, and documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and statutes.
- Coordinates Inventory disbursement activities with other departments (e.g., pickups, deliveries)
- Required to follow the BWL Safety Manual and wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Support the collection, development, standardization, and updating of ISO 55001 process-related procedures, documentation, and databases as management directs.
- Designing and developing efficient movement and storage systems.
