Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Machine Technician to join their dynamic team in Roseville, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting various types of machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
*This is a contract position with opportunity for direct hire after 6 months based on performance
Duties
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on machinery to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues as they arise.
- Utilize tools such as an ohmmeter to diagnose electrical problems effectively.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement improvements and modifications to existing equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols while operating machinery.
- Assist in training new staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Machine Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues across departments.
