Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering and Technology, Science and Technology or its foreign educational equivalent. Five years of experience in the position offered, or in a similar position such as Proposal Engineer. Experience must include providing estimating services for commercial and technical projects by analyzing and compiling the cost factors, as well as creating quotation bid packages using process documentation, written specifications and designs to meet customer requirements.

Oversee and manage a subordinate team of Estimating Specialists responsible for providing estimation services concerning commercial and technical proposals for manufacturing production system automation projects. Create and execute plans for multi-country projects in line with corporate financial policies to optimize profits for North American operations, as well as support the company's strategic business plan and manufacturing operations. Analyze business opportunities for the North American market and lead the estimating activities required to finalize a technical proposals and quotations with a main objective of creating technical proposals that are efficient and competitive in today's marketplace. Interface with the customers at a technical level, understanding the customer's needs - including pain points, and be a point of reference for the customers in exchanging ideas and solutions. Lead in line-up meetings with customers and analyze requests for quote. Manage subordinate team in the development of quotations while conducting milestone meetings in compliance with processes and procedures. Collaborate with Sales team and Customer during proposal phase to define the most competitive and cost effective solutions. Assess a customer's specification package for correct application of commercial components and desired manufacturing process parameters. Manage the estimating process and ensuring that customer proposals are prepared on time and to the standard required. Define strategy for completing the estimate and define a time schedule to ensure timely completion. Ensure tasks necessary for the preparation of the proposal quotations are properly assigned and the tasks are completed on a timely basis. Clearly define the cost offered to the customer and identify any clarifications or exceptions to the customer’s enquiry and specifications. Ensure that detailed spreadsheets are completed and that an accurate bid analysis is carried out on all quotations developed. Lead departmental improvement projects associated with estimating and highlight areas for improvement. Manage, lead, guide, evaluate and develop subordinate team to ensure that the team achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant processes including supporting lessons learned process and preparing and conducting regular employee performance reviews of each directly reporting subordinate
